Liz Fink-Rakoski is a dance educator, choreographer, and performer currently residing in Maryland. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from Shenandoah Conservatory, where she was a recipient of the Excellence in Choreography Award. Liz is former Dance Faculty of the University of Delaware, where she taught in their dance minor program for three years. Liz teaches master classes and sets choreography throughout the east coast, and has been a guest artist at multiple institutions including Washington College, Harford Community College, Hagerstown Community College, and Howard Community College. For three seasons, Liz has served as a judge for the intercollegiate Evolve Dance Competition. She is the co-creator of the annual workshop Artistry Unleashed, which focuses on developing dancers as artists and creators. Her choreography has been performed throughout the US, including a performance at the prestigious Regional Dance America's nationals in Arizona state. Since its 2015 debut at the HATCH series in NYC, Liz has served as Rehearsal Director for the professional dance company InvisibleWings Dance Project, under the direction of Lauren Carnesi. She has danced professionally with Alternative Dance Project under the artistic direction of Danielle Sten-Guillermo and Lance Guillermo, and has toured internationally with InterTOUR Dansa in Spain and France. Liz has also danced with The Doniphan Project in Tupelo, MS and Washington, DC, and has performed in music videos for local DC artists. Liz has been on faculty at the Maryland Council Dance Festival, and has showcased her choreography in their Artists’ Concert. Liz served as the council's Concert Chair for their 2016 festival, and as President of the council for the 2017 festival, where over $50,000.00 in scholarships were awarded. Liz pushes creative boundaries in her teaching and choreography, through the use of a diverse range of exploration exercises resulting in innovative movement and partnering. She focuses on creating a comfortable yet inspiring atmosphere for her dancers, which allows them to grow as technicians and artists.
